Disclosure: Illustration only — not an offer of credit, and not a quote. Figures assume SELF’s published Wind Resilience terms: loan amounts $3,000–$25,000, a fixed interest rate of 5–10.5%, repayment over 3 to 7 years in equal monthly instalments, an origination fee of 2.5% (1.25% with SELF’s military discount) and a project-management fee of 3.99%. The APR shown is an estimate that includes those fees, assuming they are added to the loan; SELF gives you the exact APR in writing before you sign. SELF requires no down payment, but states that a co-signer and/or a cash guarantee of about 3% of the project cost may be required depending on your credit history. SELF (Solar and Energy Loan Fund) is a third-party Florida non-profit lender and a U.S. Treasury-certified CDFI; SELF sets the rate and the term, makes the credit decision and funds the loan. Complete Roofing is the roofer, not the lender, and does not offer in-house financing. Florida License #CCC1337480.

Our Lending Partner

A Florida non-profit lender. A local roofer.

We don't make the credit decision — we partner with SELF, the Solar and Energy Loan Fund. As a non-profit (and U.S. Treasury-certified CDFI), SELF can offer affordable, fixed-rate financing to Florida homeowners based on ability to repay, not just a credit score.

No down payment
A co-signer or ~3% cash guarantee may be required on some credit histories
5–10.50% fixed interest
3–7 year terms · $3,000–$25,000 · fees on top, so the APR runs higher
No minimum credit score
SELF underwrites on your ability to repay

SELF’s military discount halves their origination fee (2.5% → 1.25%) rather than lowering the rate, and they run separate programs for seniors, homeowners with disabilities, women and veterans on their own terms. Apply at SolarEnergyLoanFund.org or call (833) 476-7353.

Roof Financing FAQ

We finance roofs through SELF — the Solar and Energy Loan Fund, a Florida-based non-profit and U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Because they're a non-profit, they offer some of the most affordable rates and terms available, and they specialize in exactly this kind of work: roof replacements and windstorm upgrades for Florida homeowners.

A roof goes through SELF's Wind Resilience loan. SELF publishes it as $3,000 to $25,000, a fixed interest rate of 5% to 10.50%, and terms of 3 to 7 years. On top of the interest they charge an origination fee of 2.5% (1.25% if you qualify for their military discount) and a project-management fee — so the APR is higher than the interest rate. SELF requires no down payment, but they do say a co-signer and/or a cash guarantee of about 3% of the project cost may be required depending on your credit history. SELF sets all of it and gives you the exact numbers in writing before you sign.

This is what makes SELF different from a bank. Their Wind Resilience page says it plainly: “No minimum credit score, no income limits (minimum or maximum), and no minimum asset or home equity required.” They underwrite on your ability to repay. What they do require: you own the home, your spouse and every titleholder applies, you can show income (a job, Social Security, disability), your property taxes are current, your mortgage and car and credit cards are current, and you haven't had a bankruptcy filed or discharged in the past 12 months. SELF still makes the decision — we can't promise an approval and neither can they.

Yes, and it's worth being precise about what it is. SELF's military discount cuts their origination fee in half — from 2.5% to 1.25% of the loan — rather than lowering the interest rate. SELF also runs separate programs for seniors, homeowners with disabilities, women and veterans, each with its own rates and limits, and some of them are capped too low to fund a roof. Ask us and we'll point you at SELF for the one that fits. Separately, and nothing to do with SELF: Complete Roofing takes $500 off for military, veterans and first responders.

Yes — it's one of the most common ways our customers handle a hurricane claim. SELF funds the project up front, you pay your deductible (often $2,500–$5,000 on a Florida wind policy), and the insurance payout goes toward paying down the loan.

Yes — SELF requires that you own the home being improved and are current on your mortgage and property taxes. You don't need perfect credit, but the home does need to be yours.

No — and we want to be clear about that. We're a licensed Florida roofing contractor (FL Lic. CCC1337480). SELF is the lender: they make the credit decision and fund the loan; we install your roof. We simply help you apply while we put your quote together.
